lets figure out white balance

Day 3 of Learning Photography: Figuring Out White Balance Today, I'm learning about white balance—basically, it's what makes colors look natural in different lighting. Have you ever taken a photo indoors and everything looked super yellow? Or outside where everything looked too blue? That's white balance. Most cameras do a pretty good job with Auto White Balance, but today I wanted to see the difference myself. I took the same photo using different white balance settings: Auto Daylight Cloudy Tungsten The results were surprisingly different. Some photos looked warmer, some looked cooler, and each one changed the overall mood of the image. One thing I learned is: Lower Kelvin numbers make photos look cooler. Higher Kelvin numbers make photos look warmer. I'm also starting to realize that white balance isn't just about getting the "correct" colors—it's another creative tool you can use to tell a story. That's it for Day 3. Tomorrow I'll learn something new, so follow along as I improve my photography one day at a time.
