In this episode we drive our car onto a barge and island-hop over to the wildest island in the US Virgin Islands — St. John. Welcome back! We loaded the car onto the Love City car ferry and crossed from St. Thomas to St. John, an island that's two-thirds Virgin Islands National Park. We explored the Annaberg sugar-plantation ruins and its windmill — learning the harsh history of sugarcane and slavery in the Danish Caribbean — then walked the Leinster Bay trail (lined with wild free-roaming goats) out to Waterlemon Cay, where we snorkeled alongside a green sea turtle, widely considered St. John's best snorkel spot.
