Download the remastered audio in FLAC: https://drive.google.com/drive/folder... Performed live on September 10th, 1999, at Tokyo International Forum in Tokyo, Japan. Aired on September 15th, 1999 on NHK BS-2. Audio remastered by Hollie Taylor. Video remastered by Hailey Carol and Hollie Taylor. "When I’m struggling emotionally or I’m stressed, I act up, especially onstage... I throw childish tantrums, which I more or less pass off as humor. Hopefully they have provided someone with entertainment. They’re certainly good for blowing off steam. But I knew something had to give soon, because inwardly I was freaking out." For every Nirvana on MTV Unplugged, a live performance that cements itself in the canon of all live video, iconic and time-tested, there will be a Lauryn Hill on MTV Unplugged. A mental spiral documented for all to observe, equally cemented in canon through infamy rather than quality. Ben Folds Five played a multi-night show at the International Forum during the Japan leg of their tour, and managed to capture both in just one pro-shot performance. The concert aired on Japanese TV 5 days later, being bootlegged and distributed by fans as "Freaking Out" (pulled from a lyric of the opener, "Don't Change Your Plans") and quickly spread amongst the fanbase into infamy. We've uploaded it here before and it's been around on YouTube for ages at this point, but we've decided to take another crack at preserving and remastering it. The write-up we usually do for these descriptions was also re-done, but there's too damn much to say about this show so it'll be in the pinned comment instead and we'll continue with the technical breakdown here. The video was remastered with AVSPmod (ghost removal, denoising, deinterlacing, cropping) and Sony Vegas Pro (color correction). Big thanks to users at forum.videohelp.com for their help, especially with helping remove that annoying shimmering glow to the right of everything! The audio is sourced from a Japanese bootleg CD called "Tokyo Army," which was an actual lossless source. This was processed through MVSep's de-reverb so we could make the audio a bit more dry. It was then remastered with traditional EQ and compression in FL Studio. We originally had a different source for the audio that was still marginally higher quality than the video before we found Tokyo Army, so this re-remaster was done twice! We worked very hard to find out the best possible way to present this show and hope this upload serves as the definitive viewing experience for years to come. ☆Timestamps☆ 00:00 Don't Change Your Plans 05:22 Battle of Who Could Care Less 08:46 Army 12:30 Missing the War 16:52 Magic 21:18 Steven's Last Night in Town 26:27 Sledge Slide (Roboto) 28:02 Your Redneck Past 32:16 Mess 36:26 Hospital Song 38:54 Philosophy 43:57 Fair 50:12 Narcolepsy 55:41 Regrets 1:00:25 One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces 1:04:46 Underground [ENCORE] 1:08:36 Jackson Cannery 1:12:39 Uncle Walter 1:16:35 Song for the Dumped 1:24:50 Freaking Out Join the Discord!:   / discord   Follow us on Bluesky!: https://bsky.app/profile/silverstyt.b...
