TRIBUN-TIMUR.COM, BULUKUMBA - Several students again held a demonstration in Bulukumba Regency on Thursday (June 26, 2026). The students, a joint venture between PMII and HMI, again demonstrated in the same area. They began their demonstration at the Teko intersection, on Jl. Sultan Hasanuddin and IR Soekarno. Their action briefly blocked traffic from Bulukumbe to Bantaeng and vice versa. The demonstration lasted approximately 30 minutes on the road. Protesters also blocked container trucks traveling through Bulukumba to Makassar. Students burned tires in the middle of the road in the hot sun. Satpol PP officers, the Transportation Agency (Dishub), and police personnel guarded the demonstration. Students took turns giving speeches and then headed to the Bulukumba Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) office. Two of their demands included asking the government to evaluate the Free Nutritious Meals program. Furthermore, the students also called on the government to reject the Red and White Cooperative program. "Our demands are to evaluate the MBG program, reject the KDMP, improve the Indonesian economy, and reduce fuel price inflation," said PMII Branch Chair Syaibatul Hamdi.
