At Kinótico, during our special coverage of the 2025 Málaga Film Festival, we chatted with Manuel Ríos San Martín, Blanca Suárez, and Daniel Grao, director and stars of ‘La huella del mal’ (The Mark of Evil). The film is being screened out of competition in the Official Section of the Andalusian festival and co-stars actors such as Aria Bedmar, Víctor Palmero, Daniel Horvath, Cosimo Fusco, Fernando Cayo, Juanma Cifuentes, and María Martínez. ‘La huella del mal’ is the film adaptation of the novel by Manuel Ríos San Martín himself, a director, screenwriter, and writer who had previously directed ‘No te fallaré’ (I Won't Let You Down), the film version of ‘Compañeros’ (Classmates), a popular Antena 3 series that he co-created and co-wrote in the late 1990s. His last directorial credit until this year was ‘Rescatando a Sara’ (Rescuing Sara), the miniseries starring Carmen Machi. During a school tour of the Center for Experimental Archaeology (CAREX), some children find the body of a young woman in the place where a replica of a Neanderthal burial should be. The young woman is Eva Santos, a girl from the nearby town of Atapuerca, and she is dead. Her body is naked and placed in a fetal position. A gruesome ritualistic crime reminiscent of another that occurred six years ago in the same area. Has the 'Site Killer' returned?
