What a beautifully chaotic week here at the crumbling behemoth which is Duncombe House. Juggling a metric ton of marble, marble marble delivered to the wrong place, three pandemonic puppies running in different directions, a Captain of Chaos who leaves a trail of destruction and stately solid brass window furniture which you’ve installed upside down is no mean feat… ADD to that a slice of frantic and frenetic panic as you try and prepare to welcome 100 people to your still derelict and abandoned English Country Home for a full bells and whistles Summer Fete and you have the perfect recipe for a carnage cake! It is weeks like this my friend, weeks that test us to absolute limits, that remind us exactly why we have dedicated our lives to the restoration, renovation and rejuvenation of the seminal, Duncombe House.
