There are many places in Kharkiv where you can grab a bite of pirozhki, chebureks, or belyashi, and drink coffee or tea. Today I'd like to show you a few places where we'll try belyashi. We'll start our tasting at the cafe in the Trade House building near the Central Market. They have a wide selection of pies, pizza, and belyashi. I buy a belyashi with a cappuccino. I didn't expect it to be so delicious. The belyashi is warm, there's not much dough, it's well-done, and the meat is delicious. The cappuccino is also excellent. Then we head to the metro. Many metro stations have kiosks in the underpasses selling pies and coffee. Before the war, these places were very popular. There were always lines. Now there are few people. I buy a belyashi in the underpass at Zavodskaya metro station. I eat it at home. It's cold; it needs to be warmed up. There's a lot of dough, and the meat is tasteless. The next place we'll be tasting belyash is the Rost supermarket. I pick one up in the bakery section. They also have lots of pies with different fillings, donuts, and buns. I decided to eat this belyash outside on a bench. It was delicious. There's a lot of dough, but it's soft and fluffy. There's also a lot of meat inside. The only thing I didn't like was that the dough inside felt raw. But that could have been because of the fat leaking from the meat. And the last place we're heading to is the Horse Market. I tried my first belyash there. That was when I was a child. Now I'm approaching a cafe selling chebureki. Unfortunately, they don't have belyashes here. And you have to wait 40 minutes for a chebureki, so I declined.
