Reset: Behind the Scenes and Bloopers

I wanted to post some behind the scenes stuff from my recent short film Reset! My partner worked their ass off behind the camera creating some of our lighting effects. They're incredible. Also there are bloopers of me being a very bad actor sprinkled throughout 😅 First behind the scenes clip shows just how tough our lighting set-up was to work with. The blue light was so bright that even the natural sunlight got completely lost in it. In the scene where Enjolras pulls the blinds and completely changes the lighting look for the film, we had to find a way to slowly fade out the blue light and fade in the natural light bulb we had. We didn't want the blue light to be completely gone because blue = dream, so Mike had to very slowly put a plastic bag over the blue LED and then uncover the sunlight bulb in the lamp. Second behind the scenes clip shows how we achieved the rainbow lighting during the Enjolras "reset" scene where he turns into a sketch. Mike spun the color wheel on our LED light, while also using a remote to change the color of the two background effects lights we had. The last behind the scenes clip shows the batshit wild rig we set up for the overhead shot of Enjolras falling asleep/waking up. Mike not only monitored the camera from like seven feet in the air but also changed the lights to simulate the passage of time while Enjolras slept. In this one, I also had a light switch in my hand, out of frame, because Mike couldn't reach one of our "daylight" paper lantern cords. Thanks for watching!
