The English FA faced the daunting task of selecting the England 1958 FIFA World Cup squad from a player pool decimated by the Munich Air Disaster that killed several stars of the Manchester United Busby Babes. Without Duncan Edwards, Roger Byrne and Tommy Taylor, the final England squad selection was dominated by footballers from Wolves and West Brom. Exciting youngsters like Bryan Douglas, Bobby Charlton and Johnny Haynes bolstered by key veterans such as Tom Finney and Billy Wright.
