Being Gifted: What it Really Means, and Why it's a Neurodiversity

Being gifted isn't just about being good at school or talented in one area. In this video, we look at how giftedness is often better understood as depth, intensity, and how your brain processes the world. Many people who relate to these traits describe constant curiosity, a strong need to understand "why", and noticing patterns before others do. You'll hear about common themes like intense focus, complex inner thinking (including thinking about thinking!) creativity and problem-solving, existential questions, strong emotions, empathy, and enhanced sensory sensitivity. I also share how giftedness can lead to perfectionism and a fear of underperforming, which may cause people to mask or adapt themselves to fit in. Giftedness does not automatically mean superiority or guaranteed success. It can come with challenges such as sensory overload, emotional exhaustion and loneliness. I've you've been researching autistic traits, struggling with burnout, or feeling "different", you may find helpful insights here.
