The Geely Emgrand M Grand is a PHEV sedan with a Guinness World Record-breaking efficiency of 2.2L/100km and a claimed 1,000km range on a single tank and charge. And the Geely M9 is a 390kW PHEV three-row SUV with a 60-inch screen, 1,300km of combined range, and an interior that makes you question why anyone would spend $150k on a BMW X7. We put all three through our Love, Marry, Forget framework and the results were not what we expected. One car surprised us by driving brilliantly, and we still gave it the Forget. One tiny rear-wheel-drive hatchback at under $30k might be the best value EV Australia has ever seen. And one family SUV is quietly closing in on BMW X7 territory at a fraction of the price. Geely is the same company that owns Volvo. That DNA shows up everywhere across this lineup, and after spending time with all three in China, the picture for Australia is becoming very clear.
