Bubsy 4D (PC) - Screwing around in Pause Menu (Chatter Frequency, Tank Controls)

As I said earlier, the things are changing up with this channel, that I don't make videos only on retro consoles, but that I also want to play something more recent as well. And this game is one of those. ;) The highlight from the playthrough I made on Bubsy 4D Demo at the end of October 2025. My first encounter with Bubsy Bobcat was in AVGN's Wish List Part 2 video where he briefly showed Bubsy 3D, and it was at the end of 2013 or maybe the beginning of 2014, when I saw that video... Later, JP_Ronny YouTube user, formerly known as PirateGamingHeavy, made a video on Bubsy 3D, where he found a copy in Cash Converters to revisit the game, that he briefly played as a kid, and then changed it for another better title, and that video was from 2014 or something... I myself got Bubsy II on MegaDrive in February-March 2016, which was a bit unusual as I didn't have a good clone system or the actual thing that would work properly. Mind you, the pirate copy of that game wasn't in good condition, and I sold/traded it later to someone else... Then in 2017, there was a video with highlights from playthrough that JP_Ronny made on the game, which showed more than enough that you'd need to know about Bubsy 3D for Sony PlayStation... The trailer that was released for Bubsy 4D in or about August-September 2025 made me interested in this character, despite the reputation that this bobcat got over the years from those internet reviews from popular YouTube channels... And the final kicker was the release of Bubsy in the Purrfect Collection that features Bubsy: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind for Super Nintendo and Sega MegaDrive / Genesis, Bubsy II for Super Nintendo and Sega MegaDrive / Genesis, Bubsy II for Gameboy, Bubsy in Fractured Furry Tales for Atari Jaguar (this was the first Jaguar game ever that I've tried, safe to say), and also two versions of Bubsy 3D for Sony PlayStation - one that features the original tank controls, and the Refurbished Edition, that I ended up playing instead, that's got analog controls and the camera that you can freely control. Safe to say, I completed all of the games from that collection. While the games may be not the greatest, I must say that the Purrfect Collection definitely lives to its name - you get to play most of the games of that time (except for Super Bubsy from PC, IIRC), and they went into trying to make Bubsy 3D more playable by changing controls (not perfect, as tank controls return on bonus stages and when you use rockets on later stages, but hey... they tried it, and I actually got some enjoyment out of Refurbished Edition, not gonna lie). And the Meowseum is excellent - you get the interviews, the manual scans in high quality, the official art of Bubsy and what he looked like before the release of the first game... and there is even the cartoon pilot. To me personally, that Purrfect Collection was a nice introduction to this character. :) And during that period of time of me discovering this 1990s video game character, Fabraz released the demo of the game on Steam, which was in October 2025. And I played it on that day. Those were the BEST 2 hours spent playing the three stages that are currently available. The controls are great and responsive, the camera may need some improvement but it's ok-ish, the music and graphics are amazing. The current voice of Bubsy is the BEST one I've heard so far, and the current actor does a really amazing job staying in-character, and finds a great balance to make this character funny and not annoying at all, as it might have been back in 1996 with Bubsy 3D entry. I liked how Fabraz brought some of the characters from the failed pilot cartoon episode, and the storyline isn't far off from Bubsy franchise. I'll be looking forward to the full release of the game in 2026, and I wish good luck to everyone involved in development of the game. Every character deserves another chance to redeem himself. And in a way, I kinda enjoyed Bubsy as a character - he is one of the most talkative characters I've seen throughout the history of playing all those games, and with good voice actor work - I don't mind listening to him, he doesn't annoy me in this game. In fact, his current redesign made him look even better and more cute. And in his older games what I liked the most is his multiple cartoon-alike animations when you lose a life, when you run out of time, when you fall from great height and he makes a surprised face... or launch any of gags known in cartoons of that time. I have weakness for gags like that. :P As for this video - I was just playing around with Pause Menu, as this bobcat always has something to say. My favourite parts is when he gets annoyed at player turning on tank controls... or his speech when you turn down the "Chatter Frequency". But of course in-game I would change it back to Bubsy% (100%). You may check the playthrough here:    • Bubsy 4D Demo (PC) - Random Playthrough by...
