The Fermi Paradox Has A Terrifying Solution

In 1950, Enrico Fermi posed a question during a discussion at Los Alamos National Laboratory that remains unresolved: Where is everybody? The Fermi Paradox arises from the apparent contradiction between high probabilistic estimates for extraterrestrial civilizations and the lack of observational evidence. The Milky Way contains hundreds of billions of stars, many significantly older than the Sun. If even a small fraction host habitable planets that produce intelligent life, technologically advanced civilizations should have emerged long before humanity.
