The Audi e-Tron is an all electric premium SUV with plenty of space for up to five adults, a massive boot, all-wheel drive and a decent driving range depending which battery you opt for. The e-Tron looks like any ordinary SUV with the interior a high end Audi mix of premium design, high-quality materials coupled with the latest technology. There’s plenty of space in the cabin, and when the seats are folded down, a huge 1755 litre boot. As theres no engine, under the bonnet there’s also a 60 litre compartment where you can keep the charging leads. The power in the 55 version comes from a 95 kWh lithium-ion battery and two electric motors, one at the front and one at the rear, delivering 408 BHP in boost mode with 664 Nm of torque, which helps to tow a trailer up to 1,800kg. When you climb into the Audi e-Tron it feels like a normal Audi SUV. The dashboard looks similar to that in other petrol and diesel cars and the overall interior is a very upmarket environment as you would expect from a £60,000 plus car. The e-Tron weighs 2,490kg, but the handling is really impressive for such a heavy car; the battery sitting in the floor pan helps with a low centre of gravity. Performance is very good and grip from the all-wheel-drive Quattro system is excellent, especially in the wet. The official combined driving range of the e-Tron is 249 miles, but this typically varies between 200 and 220 miles in real-world driving. Combined electric power consumption is 24.2 kWh/100 km (62 miles). The e-Tron comes with an 11kW onboard charger, with the option to upgrade this to 22kW. There are charge ports on both sides of the car, a Type 2 connector for home AC charging on the passenger side and the same port together with a CCS connector for DC public rapid charging on the driver’s side. The e-Tron has the ability to charge from 0 to 80% capacity in around 50 minutes at a 150kW charge point. The Audi e-Tron is very spacious, immensely practical & refined to drive.
