Homemade Hypoxia Chamber

In our very first Science Solutions tutorial, we will be going over how to create your own hypoxia chamber! This hypoxia chamber revolves around the use of a candle to lower the concentration of oxygen within the environment to as low as 15%. Typically, inducing hypoxia would require an expensive piece of equipment or enzymatic system. With this low-cost, easy to make version, you can generate hypoxic environments at home for any type of experiment you desire! ----- Quick Timecodes: Introduction (0:00) Materials (1:25) Pre-setup (2:28) Experimentation Setup (4:13) ----- Materials: (1) Aluminum Pan (1) Roll of Plastic Wrap (3+) Unscented Tealight Candles (1) Roll of Aluminum Foil (2+) Pipettes (1) Oxygen Sensor = borrow from school (1) Laptop = borrow from school/use your own (x) Logger Pro Software = borrow from school/use free trial online Other: Tape, Matches, Water, Scissors ----- For this video, we used the Vernier O2 Gas Sensor.
