Defy Top Load Washer DTL149 - Not Spinning. Complete Diagnosis and Repair Process 👇🇿🇦🦾

The machine had two faults; . ◾A faulty PCB resulting in the washer nor sensing the lid/door sensor. -INITIALLY i thought the fault was on the door sensor itself (most common cause) but upon further testing i pinpointed the problem to the PCB whereby it was could not sense the door lock signal due to a partially shorted led light on the pcb. The led was pulliing the signal down, mimicking a "lid open signal". By cutting one leg of the led out of the PCB, i was able to fix the problem and to confirm that it was indeed the led causing the fault. The leds have a voltage drop of ~1.8V. The faulty one had a voltage drop of about 1.3V ◾A blockage restricting water drainage
