Finding an affordable Heath kit IP-32 (Part 1)

My first attempt of finding an affordable Heath kit IP-32 high voltage bench test supply was a complete disaster resulting in discovering it had a burned up transformer that is next to impossible to find a direct replacement for it’s not completely useless, but it’s gonna take a lot more work and a bit of retrofitting to solve that problem, but in the meantime, I have been needing a high voltage regulated power supply for some of my projects based around audio vacuum tube amplification I have been working on so off to eBay. I went once again rolling the dice in an attempt to find a better candidate or at least a good parts unit and I’m happy to say I finally tracked one down, but it wasn’t going to be as quick and easy as I was hoping this is a three part series consisting of me evaluating the device in the first part testing the vacuum tubes checking it’s overall state part two will consist of replacing all of the capacitors and bridge rectification diodes, which would’ve been the end of it except for I found a assembly error either from Myself or the original builder So grab a beverage kickback and relax and enjoy the nerdy moment
