Teoria da Música - Aula 1 - Altura e Duração
To begin discussing music in a more technical way, we need to discuss some necessary concepts and terms. In this introductory lesson of our music theory course, we'll talk about the concepts of pitch and duration, two fundamental pillars for a series of topics that follow. Pitch: Pitch is defined by its vibrations in Hz. Depending on the speed of these vibrations, the sound can be higher or lower in pitch. The low frequency region is understood as the bass region. High frequencies are high-pitched sounds. The human ear hears approximately between 20 Hz and 20 kHz. The tuning fork, a reference for tuning orchestral instruments, uses A440 Hz. A440 Hz is seen as a definite pitch that lies in the middle range – neither too low nor too high. Definite pitches give rise to musical notes. Duration: This is the length of a sound, which can be long or short. It is through sound and its action over time that the Western musical system develops the concepts of rhythm and meter. 1) Discover our products (Courses, Workshops, and Ebooks for learning music): https://www.arsonline.com.br/produtos Online course in music theory and perception: • Curso de Teoria e Percepção Musical - Módu...
