Summer of Fun is an event at Alton Towers Theme Park that is held throughout the Summer holidays. The weather might not have felt very summery but the entertainers still performed and put on a great show. Summer of Fun is perhaps the least advertised and smallest of the Alton Towers events, perhaps not worth specifically visiting the Alton Towers resort for but with shows and characters wandering the Alton Towers Resort it is a nice touch throughout the summer holidays. Alton Towers Resort is a world-renowned theme park and resort located in the heart of Staffordshire, England. With over 40 rides and attractions, including 10 thrilling roller coasters, Alton Towers offers something for everyone, from families with young children to adrenaline-seeking thrill-seekers. The park is situated on a sprawling estate that spans over 800 acres and is home to a variety of themed areas, including Forbidden Valley, X-Sector, and the iconic Towers Street. Each area is uniquely designed and offers its own set of attractions and experiences. One of the most popular attractions at Alton Towers is the Wicker Man roller coaster, which opened in 2018 and is the UK's first wooden roller coaster to be built in over 20 years. The coaster is themed after the ancient pagan tradition of the Wicker Man and features special effects, fire, and a heart-pumping ride experience.
