The Ruby Ukulele, Finishing Up Episode 4
This is the fourth video in a series showing the process of building an ukulele from scratch. The bindings on the neck and the inlay are completed. Then the body and neck are finally glued together. The fret board is assembled and glued to the instrument. I polished all of the parts to a high gloss put on the tuning peg hardware and then put on the strings. This was a great project and I am glad it is finally done. I learned a lot in the process and I am very pleased with the final product. I took on some challenges that may have been too much for a first-time ukulele. The binding, the inlay, and the rosette around the sound hole made this an unforgettable experience. There were no mistakes made in this ukulele but a large number of lessons were learned. The ukulele sounds great and I know Ruby will love it.
