Predicting The Future, Dublin City, Ireland 1979
What will the world be like in twenty years time? People on the streets of Dublin look ahead. On the eve of a new decade Dubliners describing how they see the world in twenty years. We leave you with your own view of what’s going to happen in the next twenty years. Space travel, technology, robots, computers, work patterns and war are all subjects which feature strongly in people’s vision for the future. I would hope that we’ll all have our feet still firmly planted on the ground. It’s all in God’s hands of course. It’ll be all space age cars. I don’t think there’ll be all that many changes in twenty years’ time. There’ll be a lot more unemployment and there’ll be a lot more violence. For the youth of this world, I think they should get together and say no more war. ‘Year In’ was broadcast on 31 December 1979. The presenter is Pat Kenny.
