Nothing given to God is ever lost.

Does God really notice the small things we do? The hidden prayer before work. The quiet act of kindness. The sacrifice nobody sees. The struggle to remain faithful when no one applauds. In this Sunday's Gospel, Jesus gives a surprising answer. He tells us that even a cup of cold water offered in His name will never lose its reward. The readings for the 13th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year A) remind us that God never overlooks hidden faithfulness. Through the hospitality of the Shunammite woman, St Paul's teaching on Baptism, and Jesus' challenging words about discipleship, we discover a powerful truth: nothing done for Christ is ever wasted. In this episode of The Social Sermon, we reflect on: • Why God values ordinary acts of love more than spectacular achievements. • What it really means to "take up your cross." • Why Baptism changes our entire identity. • How to remain faithful when nobody seems to notice. • Why God's memory matters far more than human recognition. Perhaps the greatest saints are not those whose names appear in history books, but those whose hidden acts of love are known only to God. "If God remembers, it doesn't matter who forgets." 📖 Sunday Readings • 2 Kings 4:8–11, 14–16 • Romans 6:3–4, 8–11 • Matthew 10:37–42 🙏 If this reflection has helped you, please: • Like this video • Subscribe to The Social Sermon • Share it with someone who may need encouragement this week • Leave a comment: What hidden act of faith has strengthened your relationship with God?
