Coity Castle near Bridgend, South Wales is a Norman castle built in the 12th century by Sir Payn "the Demon" de Turberville, one of the legendary Twelve Knights of Glamorgan. Major rebuilding took place in the 14th century and again in the 15th after Owain Glyndŵr laid siege to the castle during his uprising against English rule. Further changes were made to the castle in the early 16th century, including the addition of a third floor.
