What if... ABSOLUTE Dragon Ball?

I've had plenty of requests to make a story similar to the "Absolute" line of DC Comics, essentially making a darker version of Dragon Ball where characters each lose a core aspect of their development. Kakarot, a young Saiyan who spent some years fighting for Frieza, deserts his army as the emperor grows more paranoid and destroys Planet Vegeta. He aims for more in life, and it seems like he finds a better planet. However, Earth is under the tyrannical rule of the Red Ribbon Army. This is a version of Kakarot who never has the influences of Gohan or Roshi, and stayed on Planet Vegeta a few years longer. What will change?
