FOZ DE ARBAYUN – RESERVA NATURAL - PAMPLONA – NAVARRA – QUE VER

The Arbayún gorge is approximately 6 km long and reaches depths of around 400 meters in some sections. It is a deep canyon carved by the Salazar River into the limestone of the Leyre mountain range. The famous canal route is not suitable for everyone. Built in 1929 to carry water from the gorge to the nearby town of Lumbier, it leads into the Arbayún gorge and along its path to a beautiful area of ​​waterfalls, which is the canal's reservoir. The path to the gorge is easy to follow and perfectly marked. You will come to a junction where you can either climb to the canal or visit the nearby hermitage of San Pedro, which dates back to the 9th century and was part of the Navarrese monasteries of the Pre-Pyrenees.
