Are you are afraid to improvise? So many find the thought of improvisation intimidating. If you approach it this way, you may learn to embrace it and not be scared. This exercise is to DISCOVER the fun and process of improvisation. It is HIGHLY recommended that you use headphones and turn the volume UP to hear the subtleties in the pedal approach. For anyone that wants to pursue some private coaching read below. ____________________________________________________________ Thanks for being in touch. I am attaching a little blurb that I have for prospective students. I'm very familiar teaching well trained classical piano students who want to expand into jazz! And I'm experienced with beginner jazz students, or musicians/vocalist from other disciplines, who have some piano playing under their belt. I'm available for private lessons on an "as needed" basis. (No big commitment to a set schedule) My rate is 90.00 CDN, for at least an hour, (sometimes I go overtime, but that's on me!) Payment can be cash, on-line bank transfer, or PAYPAL. Online students… ZOOM is fine (for video/audio), I have a very nice set-up. But use the latest version of Zoom and a computer (your phone can be used for an overhead shot of the keys, but for best sound student should use headphones and a dedicated mic if possible, not the phone mic) see this video about the ZOOM AUDIO SETTINGS Best to use a computer (not a phone) , definitely headphones (not Bluetooth), and even a microphone (not USB) and then read this: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/arti... The key for piano lessons is that I have a VIEW from above the keys so that I can see what the student is doing as if I am over their shoulder. I can show you what I do for YOU to be able to hear and see me clearly. Here’s an example of one of my camera set-ups and the sound. • Misty BRIDGE reharmonized My best times are weekdays, but I am flexible about all of that. Weekends are possible In Person Lessons- Beach area of Toronto. TTC does get close to here. You should also bring a notebook for me to write in. (8x11) Record the lessons. I can use my set-up to video the lesson and send you a link to get it, our you can use your phone, or any other device.
