Il tempo della complessità - Mauro Ceruti

In the critical juncture we are experiencing due to the lockdown of social life and professional activities caused by the Covid-19 emergency, the San Carlo Foundation is offering special streaming programming to reflect on the processes of globalization, their origins, developments, and outcomes—sometimes unexpected and unpredictable—for both communities and individuals. The contributions in this series, which we have titled "Globalizations: History and Theory of an Anthropological and Political Experience," demonstrate that globalization is not a purely contemporary and one-dimensional phenomenon. Its origins can be traced back to ancient times. It has evolved over the course of history and today involves multiple levels, often intersecting to the point of almost overlapping and becoming indistinguishable, from politics to communication, from the circulation of goods to the mobility of people, from human intervention in environmental balances to the new frontiers of research. The proposed content forms a diverse journey, including lectures and interviews with specialists who have participated in recent years in lecture series organized by the Foundation, performances and theatrical readings with actors from Emilia Romagna Teatro Fondazione, and workshops with high school students from the province of Modena. The lecture "The Time of Complexity. New Technologies and New Humanism," given by Mauro Ceruti, professor of Epistemology of Globalization at IULM University in Milan, is the fifteenth in the series. #FSCstreaming #laculturanonsiferma
