First of all, I think the 25 Alphas BF is a good reel. However, it seems to have received some mixed reviews. I think the reason for these mixed reviews is largely due to the oil injection cap, which is new for Alphas. I also put this on my X after its release, but The oil injection cap on the 25 Alphas BF is essentially just a mechanical brake (or sub-brake, as Daiwa calls it) with a pinion shaft, which is harder to touch, unlike the one on the 24 STEEZ SV (without a pinion shaft). So, as I mention in the video, if the zero setting has moved even a little by the time it arrives, you'll experience frequent backlash when casting with thin lines or light lures used for finesse fishing. What I find particularly odd is this statement on Daiwa's website: ■Oil Injection Cap The 25ALPHAS BF TW is equipped with an oil injection cap. By setting the spool to ZERO (a slight play of about 0.2mm) at the time of shipment, mechanical brake adjustment is no longer necessary. The cap can be removed using the included special tool. Removing the cap allows for oiling and maintenance of the pinion ball bearing. (As of December 13, 2024) "Mechanical brake adjustment is no longer necessary." While it clearly states and mentions the pinion ball bearing, it doesn't mention the pinion shaft or adjustment. This is especially misleading for first-time buyers who are familiar with the 24STEEZ SV and are told, "No adjustment necessary, it doesn't move, so don't touch the mechanical brake." Also, regarding ULTIMATECASTING DESIGN and ULTIMATECASTING ZERO ADJUST on the website, the wording for the 25 Alphas and 24 STEEZ SV are completely identical as of December 13, 2024, despite the different mechanisms. Unfortunately, I can only think that Daiwa either had confidence in the perfect setting of the 25 Alphas BF's oil injection cap (which can also be considered a mechanical brake cap in the BF's case) to ensure stability, or that they intentionally left it as is to add ULTIMATECASTING, even though the mechanisms are different, even though they knew it would move a little. As a result, there are mixed opinions about whether the 25 Alphas BF is good or bad, so I would like them to stop using misleading wording, content, and names. As of the time of filming this video, there are over 10 reels and rods that I haven't been able to introduce, but I'm really behind on editing the video. 😭 I'll do my best to upload them little by little.
