The Suwałki Commune is planning a number of cultural events this season. The first is this coming Saturday, June 20th. It's Kupala Night in Sobolewo, near Suwałki. Czeremszyna, The Flores, and Sejneńska Kapela Kresowa will be performing on stage. Additionally, there will be a fireworks performance by Flash Zone. In addition to the concerts, there will be workshops, a competition for the most beautiful wreath, a performance of "Whispers of Midsummer Night," a wreath-laying ceremony, and a children's zone. The next event on July 4th is the Moto Picnic at Stary Folwark, and at the end of July, the opening of the Suwałki Commune Reading and Cultural Center in Płociczno-Osiedle. The Harvest Festival will take place in early August, and in early September, a farewell to summer with a concert by Zenek Martyniuk. This year's events were announced on Radio 5 by Zbigniew Mackiewicz, Mayor of the Suwałki Commune.
