It’s a conservatively styled car, but one that has been designed very carefully for efficiency and practicality, with seats for five and a decent boot. Fully charged, the Ioniq will take you 174 miles before it needs to be plugged in again, and you’re likely to find those miles relaxing and enjoyable, thanks to a smooth ride and tidy handling. The Ioniq Electric is a little pricier than its hybrid sisters, but costs very little to run – company-car users only need to pay a 7% BiK contribution. All in all, the Ioniq Electric is an impressive all-electric family-car debut from Hyundai.
