1969 ASEA-Graham elevator and more at Vemdalsskalets Högfjällshotell, Sweden

This is the main mountain resort hotel in Vemdalsskalet. This place existed for a long time. The elevator has been built in 1969, I dont know if this is also the year when the building has been created. Another KONE elevator from the 70s has been left abandoned. Recorded 13 January 2022 How to reach this place by public transport? First things first: This place is quite remote, so it requires some effort. Lets assume you traval to this place from outside the region - most likely from Stockholm. The best option is to take a train to Röjan. This regional train, which is called Snötåget during winter season operate once each day. Take an SJ InterCity train to Mora and change to this train to get to Röjan. Same on the way back. Another train, operated by Snälltåget, directly connects to and from Stockholm and Malmö. It only goes once each week in the winter season and is part of the Malmö - Åre night train. The train will be split up or connected together in Östersund. There is also a seasonal bus going directly between Stockholm and Vemdalsskalets hotel right in front of the entrance, but this bus is only available once per week. All other buses from Stockholm require a change in Vemdalen. Once you arrived in either Vemdalen by or Röjan railway station, some seasonal ski bus services named "Snöpendeln" connect Vemdalen, Klövsjö, Storhogna, Vemdalsskalet and Björnrike together. Take this bus to Vemdalsskalet which is the closest bus stop to this building. If you travel from Östersund (either because you live there or you arrive by plane at Östersund airport) the best option is bus 164, which operates twice each day. The bus goes directly to Vemdalsskalet bus stop. A single train per day goes from Östersund to Röjan which requires a change into the ski bus.
