I Just Bought A Miniature Railroad! (Saving the OCR)
My Friend Hank bought a railroad at an estate sale. All he wanted was the 7-1/4" gauge speeder and trailer and wondered where he was going to put the rest of it. So I told him I'd do an online fundraiser and see if I could buy it from him and move it to the Mill Brook Railroad. Today, we'll pick up the steam engine and then run the speeders around the track for a little while. Since releasing this video, I've learned that some of the information I was told about this railroad was incorrect. The steam engine dates back to June of 1963, and it turns out that the railroad dates back to 1970. Not as old as I had been told, but old enough to predate most current private 7-1/4" gauge railroads in the country. I'll be doing a couple video series about this railroad: The first will be restoring the steam engine. It's got a leaky flue in the copper boiler, and I'll need to fix that and anything else that needs repair to get it running again. The second, and the more involved video series will be moving the entire railroad from Ossipee, NH to Windsor, VT. A distance of over 80 miles over two lane roads. The third series will be a continuation of the second: installing all the old OCR buildings and facilities at the MLBK. Now, about the value of this railroad. The rolling stock alone is worth more than $8000. one of the cars is quite rare and sought after. It is one of two and worth more than the steam locomotive. Hank said that he only wants to recoup $6800, which is generous of him. At the moment, we're raising money via Patreon.com/millbrookrailroad. I've set up a GoFundMe at https://gofund.me/32cdd693 The family of the deceased does not want the railroad to remain on the property. I have until 1 July, 2024 to get it out of there. So, it will become part of the Mill Brook Railroad in Windsor, VT. Did you know? The Mill Brook Railroad is funded entirely by YouTube ad revenue and patrons on Patreon! You can help support the Mill Brook Railroad by becoming a patron as well. You'll get advance access to videos and some exclusive content. / millbrookrailroad Follow us on Facebook: / millbrookrailroad Check out our website: http://www.millbrookrailroad.com
