Four unsolved murders bear striking similarities to the two killings Christopher Halliwell is in jail for: A witness has told how double-killer Christopher Halliwell drove a white van like the one spotted at the scene of an unsolved murder. He also revealed the taxi driver lived just four miles from the field where Julie Finley’s naked body was dumped after she had been snatched in a city centre. Julie had just turned 23 when she was last seen in Liverpool at about 11pm on August 5, 1994. The next day, her naked body was found 15 miles away in a field near the Rainford Bypass. The new witness said Halliwell was working in North Wales at the time fitting windows and was living in Aughton, returning home to Swindon, Wiltshire, at weekends. The witness said Halliwell, a former cab driver, drove a white D-reg Ford Transit van, like one spotted near Rainford. A woman calling herself Tina told police Julie said she was going to see a taxi driver. Carol Clark, 32, was picked up from the Bristol red light district in March 1993 before being dumped in a canal at ¬Sharpness, Gloucestershire. It is believed she had either suffered a heavy blow to the neck or been strangled. Halliwell lived 40 miles away at the time and had a good knowledge of the canals, as he was a narrowboat enthusiast. The victim's brother-in-law Terry Townsend said her family had noticed similarities in a Confession between the murders the killer was convicted of. The mystery of the murdered Bristol prostitute, who had an alias and two homes. Jackie Waines/ Linda Guest's body was found on a bridlepath near Frampton Cotterell. The 35-year-old, a prostitute from Bristol, was murdered in April 1985. Her husband had deserted her, and her three children had been taken into care. She often went by the alias Linda Guest. Jackie's body was discovered only an hour after she was last seen alive. She had been stabbed several times. A white, large transit type van was parked. There was a man, described as slim build with blue jeans and a multicoloured bomber jacket, standing beside the van with what looked like a large white bundle at his feet. The white van is probably the most important sighting. The large white bundle that the Shilton's saw was more than likely Jackie's body. Yvonne Fitt was stabbed to death and her body was left at a beauty spot near Otley, West Yorkshire. The final confirmed sighting of single Leeds mum Yvonne Fitt was in Bradford on January 16, 1992. Eight months later her decomposing body was found hidden in a shallow grave at Norwood Edge, Lindley Wood, around six miles outside Otley, by a man out picking mushrooms. It is thought that she had been dead for some time, possibly several months.
