On Thursday, June 18, 2026, Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD) welcomed the inaugural Air Transat flight (TS722/TS723), carrying over 150 passengers. This new direct route between Dakar and Montreal will connect the two cities in just 9 hours, with no stopovers. Its launch represents a major step forward for the development of tourism, economic, and cultural exchanges between Senegal and Canada. This service also reinforces the strategy of the Senegalese tourism authorities, who aim to further penetrate the North American market and increase the attractiveness of Senegal as a destination for travelers from this region of the world.
