→ Join me on an early morning flight west from Minneapolis to Phoenix! This was my race to get home in time for work — the SAME DAY. So, if you see an orange reflection, that's my work clothes. We begin at MSP's gate C9 and pushback. The smoke in the air was from all the Canadian wildfires and it dropped visibility LOW. I felt bad for all the ramp workers who had to work in those conditions. Thankfully, there was rain on the way and hopefully it put a damper on the smoke a little bit. We taxi to runway 12R for departure and roar off into the smoky skies above. We ascend over the state of Minnesota, before entering some moderate turbulence over the top of Iowa and into Nebraska. Once we flew over the large storm, we crossed into the clear skies over the remainder of Nebraska, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona. We join the EAGUL6 arrival into Phoenix and land very smoothly on PHX's runway 8 shortly after. A quick taxi to gate A19 completes this 3 hour flight, arriving just about 30 minutes early.
