It feels like forever since the Chicago Blackhawks were at the top of their game. From 2009 through 2017, they were contenders almost every year. But here we are, heading into the 2026 season, and that golden run is now nearly a decade behind us. In the past 4 years, the Hawks have been one of the worst teams in the NHL and that's putting it lightly. If there’s a silver lining, though, it’s this: Chicago has been stockpiling draft picks like they’re Infinity Stones. Almost every major hockey publication ranks them at or near the very top when it comes to prospect pools. So yeah, it might take some patience, but there’s no denying that better days are coming.
