How to Automate Taps and Swipes on Android with MacroDroid?

Video Description ~~~~~~ I received a comment recently asking if I could create a video about automating both taps and swipes within an application. This process can be rather complex, but after doing some tests, I found a great way this can be done and can easily show you how. This process does not require root access, but it does mean that you need to install the application MacroDroid. It's free in the Google Play Store, but it does require some accessibility permissions in order to activate those taps and swipes for you. Setting up MacroDroid to Automate Taps This automation app may seem daunting at first, but I feel the user interface is much easier to understand than something like Tasker. Once the app has been installed, open it up and then tap on the Macros tab. You will see a floating + button here, tap on it so we can create an automated macro. The trigger can be one of many different things. To make things easy, we can set it up so that this macro will be executed once an application has been opened. hence, this will be known as the trigger. but again, this can be all sorts of things like a certain time of day, the press of a quick settings button, etc. there's a lot of things here so browse until you find something that works will with your macro Now we're going to setup the action for this automation And we'll be selecting the UI Interaction option We're going to tap on Click from this menu here Now, MacroDroid wants to know where this tap should be done You can select the x,y location if you know those details. . .or even have the app look for some text content But I've found that Identify In App seems to be very intuitive. So let's choose that, and then we have the ability to open the app we want to automate taps with Now, let's tap the notification that appeared, so we can tell macrodroid the next tap we perform is where we want it to be recorded You can now test your Android automation macro once we have tapped the Check button here to save it It will ask for a name, but you can type anything Now, you can see the macro is activated, let's test it by launching the app we used as the trigger Using MacroDroid to Automate Swipes We're going to continue with this macro by showing you how to set up swipes with this application. You'll need to tap the plus button here to add another action to the macro And again, we're going to select the UI Interact option from this list. Except this time we'll be choosing the Gesture action This page can seem a bit confusing, but after a little bit of experimenting, it was easy to figure out. We'll switch this over to percentages, and then start changing the start and end coordinates. remember, x axis from left to right y axis for up and down So we're telling macrodroid to begin the swipe gesture 10% in from the side And it should be 50% down from the top of the screen Then, we want this swipe gesture to end on that same 10% X axis But it should end at around 10% of the Y axis Tap ok to confirm And then tap the Check floating button to save the macro Now we can test this again You'll see the app opened, it will tap the icon up in the left corner And then swipe up the screen so it can scroll through this menu Conclusion These types of macros can be very useful when it comes to automating tasks on Android So many times I've played those casual mobile games where you have to complete your dailies for gear and in-game currency #android #automation #macrodroid #android16 #android15 I can't recommend that you do this yourself. . .since I could see these games checking for this type of thing and ban you for cheating But knowing how to setup macros like this on Android can really cut out some of the less meaningful tasks on our smartphone or tablet Step by Step Tutorial ~~~~~ 1.
