Awaken | Epic Darkwave, Coldwave, Post-punk #GhostInTheWires HQ

I woke up every morning in somebody else’s dream, a stranger in the mirror staring back at me. Living in a cage of “should” and “have to”, silently screaming: “this is not me”. I was running fast but didn’t know where to, pockets full of masks and fear I never outgrew. Scared of silence, scared of truth, so I made noise just to drown out me and you. Awaken! The light inside is finally rising, scales fall from our eyes, the heart beats on the real side. Awaken! This is not the end, it’s the beginning, you don’t have to be who you were pretending. I threw off the heavy chains I forged myself, the ones I wore so no one saw my real self. Fear still whispers, but it no longer leads, ’cause truth is quieter… yet stronger than it seems. I left behind the version everybody loved, to find the one I can finally love. It hurts sometimes, but it’s the pain of being alive, not the dead one I carried deep inside. Awaken! The light inside is finally rising, scales fall from our eyes, the heart beats on the real side. Awaken! This is not the end, it’s the beginning, you don’t have to be who you were pretending. There’s no going back to that old sleeping life, even if the world screams: “Come back, it’s safer!” We are free — you and I, two souls that finally opened their eyes. Last lines – slow, deep & strong: We are awake… We are alive. Truly alive.
