Wouldn't it be great if you could just ask your horse where they hurt and what it would take to make them comfortable? In this lecture, long time farrier and lameness specialist Gene Ovnicek talks about the role that leverage testing plays in his farrier practice where he works on a multitude of lame horses. Pathologies like navicular syndrome, laminitis, ring bone, coffin joint disease, collateral ligament lesions, etc. are put on the path to healing through a variety of tools and techniques, many focusing around managing leverage and strain on the internal and soft tissue structures of the horse's foot.
