Start with.. /In Houdini create a grid, remesh to triangles - Vellum better works with triangulated mesh and nicer to fracture pieces. /Next in Vellum solver animate bend constraint group - rest length from 0 to 3 for example. Here I did a blend for restlength with a mask. This will fold up pieces of paper. /With mask goes in a wave through the surface - release weld constraints which hold the paper together all that time. I did it inside a solver with adding points to group_broken=1. Don't forget to activate breaking checkbox on weld constraints. /Inside vellum solver create different forces and velocities for released pieces. /Isolate the portion where our wave mask = 1, and make it density, temperature source for the smoke and fire simulation. /Calculate interesting velocity on pieces for future smoke and fire be advected in a curly motion. Something like vector c = cross(@N,{0,1,0}); v@vel = cross(v@N,c) ; /Create a fire and burn it out. That is pretty straight forward with Pyro solver or with emotions which accumulated inside. /Do all that additional particles and sparks . you know. Materials. Lights. Render. Compositing all the AOVs with ACES color management. Don't forget to add a nice piece of color correction and motion blur, and denoising, and glow, and camera lens distortions, and press play. Voila. Recipe. Formula. Ready. 00:00 - Introduction 00:37 - Vellum setup and simulation 38:53 - Pyro Sim 56:23 - Particles Sim Overview 59:29 - Outro
