Baskery -- 'Hole In My Soul' live in Germany, 2009-03-28

'Hole In My Soul' is one of my favorite Baskery songs, yet so far they have not and according to the band probably will not record it in the studio, so this live version is likely the best rendition we will ever hear. I first watched this knowing absolutely nothing about Baskery (just like some of you out there!) and was immediately won over by their harmonies, their chops, and their commitment to wringing every last drop from a song. Amazing performance that puts a big smile on my face - THIS is what live music is all about! Baskery is comprised of 3 sisters from Stockholm: youngest Sunniva usually sings lead & plays acoustic & electric guitar, middle child Stella slaps a mean upright bass while singing backup, and the eldest Greta takes on distorted banjo, harmonica, and backup vocals while simultaneously pounding twin bass drums with her feet. Together they have carved out their own niche in the rock/country spectrum with a style they call "mad country music." Recorded from German TV performing in Bonn on 2009-03-28.
