Leo V the Armenian, 813-820
In this video, I take a look at Leo III... er, I mean Leo V. Leo V was involved in more than his fair share of coups and controversies and had an overweening obsession with one of his 8th Century predecessors, yet he was still a pretty decent emperor in his own right. Leo V is also one of the more colorful and interesting emperors given his proclivity for harebrained schemes and the sheer drama of the coup that ultimately took him down.
