The Volkswagen ID.3 was launched in 2020 with the promise of being the brand's third icon, succeeding the famous Beetle and the renowned Golf. However, three years later, the ID.3's success has been muted due to increasing competition and some criticized aspects such as the quality of the interior materials and the computer system interface. In this video, together with Eduardo Arcos, we explore the ID.3's facelift to determine if the new features introduced are enough to revitalize its market presence, especially in Spain, where sales have been slow in 2023. We review the available versions: the Pro with a 58 kWh battery, a range of 428 km, and a starting price of €41,430; and the Pro S with a larger 77 kWh battery, a range of 559 km, and a starting price of €47,150. We also discuss the relaunch of the PURE version and the introduction of the sporty GTX version for next year. In addition, we address the important issue of choosing EV chargers, recommending professional advice for proper home installation. Finally, we debate whether the improvements made to the ID.3, especially in the quality of materials and system upgrades, along with its price, better position it in a market where more attractive alternatives exist in terms of cost.
