Connecting a radio consists of two steps: connecting the power supply and the speakers. Common mistakes occur during the power connection. Don't try to connect the radio by trial and error; refer to the operating instructions and this video. Don't connect the radio to the cigarette lighter or any other factory device; the factory wiring is designed for a specific power consumption and should not be subject to additional loads. A separate positive battery cable is ideal. Install a 10-15A fuse on this cable as close to the battery terminal as possible (10-20 cm) and additionally protect the cable with corrugated tubing. Use thick, 4 mm2 wire. Thin wires and poor connections can cause the radio to distort sound or even shut off at high volume. Do not connect the power (yellow) wire and the control (red) wire together. This connection will prevent the radio from turning off completely and will drain battery power while parked, which can lead to difficult morning starts. The yellow power wire is used to save settings and power the radio's amplifiers. It is connected through a fuse to the positive terminal and carries relatively high currents, so it must be of a sufficient cross-section of 4 mm or more. The red wire is used only to turn on the radio, so its cross-section is not important. When a positive voltage appears on the red wire, the radio will turn on. Therefore, the red wire is connected to the positive terminal that appears after the ignition is turned on, or, in the simplest case, simply via a button.
