How to buy J.League Tickets: A Step by Step Guide (All Methods!)

Here at JLJ we get asked for advice on how to buy J.League tickets multiple times every week (which is great, as it means more and more people are coming to watch the J.League!), but as it's hard to answer everyone in full detail, we thought we would put out a step by step English guide for the 3 main methods that you can follow if you are looking to watch a game here in Japan. There is an also a brief explanation below: Method 1: Go to the ticket office at the stadium and buy directly when there! This is great as it's foolproof, but make sure you look up availability in advance on either the J.League ticket site or at the convenience store, as games do sometimes sell out. It is slightly more expensive this way - especially on game day - but is by far the most simple method. Method 2: Buy online through the J.League ticket website (https://www.jleague-ticket.jp/) and pay either by credit card to receive QR code tickets sent directly to your email, or paper tickets at the convenience store (7-Eleven) The QR code option is great, but sometimes does not work with international credit cards, which would mean choosing the paper ticket option and paying in cash at 7-11. Also easy but the paper option does incur a slight surcharge. When taking your code to the counter, you can say「Jリーグチケット受け取りたいです」('J League chiketto o uketoritai desu') which means 'I would like to collect some J.League tickets. It is a little blunt but will get your point across, and the staff will know what to do from that point onwards - you will just have to give them the 13 digit code. Method 3: Buy directly from the ticket terminal at a convenience store This is sometimes still possible, but seems as if this is being slowly phased out due to push for electronic ticketing since COVID. For J1 Albirex Niigata is the only team still doing it, whilst J2 and J3 is also getting quite limited. Always worth a look though! The video shows all 3 of these methods in detail, so hopefully we can help you on your way to watch a game. If you have any questions or advice for others, please make sure to add in the comments below! And enjoy the game! #jleague
