The octagonal chapel was constructed to commemorate a period of crop failures, disease, and hardship that affected the region in the early 18th century. Throughout its history, the chapel was closed, used as a storage building, and later restored. Today, it remains one of the notable historical and pilgrimage sites of the Orlické Mountains.
