Louisa LIVE Episode 5: Elen Asatryan

In this episode, Louisa sits down with Glendale Councilwoman and former Mayor Elen Asatryan. She made history as Glendale’s first Armenian-American woman, first immigrant woman, and youngest woman ever elected to the City Council. A first-generation immigrant who moved from Armenia to Glendale at the age of 10, Elen has dedicated more than 26 years to public policy, advocacy, and community empowerment at the local, state, and federal levels. She began her civic engagement at just 15 years old and has since built a career focused on equity, affordability, small business support, and access to essential services. Throughout her work, she has led impactful initiatives—including voter registration efforts that brought over 50,000 new voters into the process. A proud graduate of Glendale public schools and UCLA, Councilwoman Asatryan continues to be driven by a deep commitment to public service and building a stronger, more inclusive future for generations to come.
