California State Assembly Marks the 111th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide | April 20, 2026

The California State Assembly has introduced HR 97, officially recognizing April 24, 2026 as the State of California Day of Commemoration of the 111th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide of 1915–1923. From condemning Genocide denial, to honoring the lifesaving work of Near East Relief, to acknowledging the continued threats faced by Armenians in their ancestral lands — AR 97 speaks the full truth of our history. California is home to the largest Armenian American population in the United States. Our community's memory, resilience, and decades of advocacy are reflected in this resolution. As we approach April 24th, the California Assembly is standing with us.
