San Myshuno Retro Apt 888 Spire | The Sims 4 Speedbuild

It’s been a while since I really sat down and built something in The Sims, so this felt a little like dusting off an old pair of boots. For this build, I renovated 888 Spire Apartment in San Myshuno with a very specific vision in mind: a modernized 60s/70s retro-inspired bachelor pad owned by an aging musician Sim who never quite let go of the glory days. This apartment is packed with vintage vibes, warm colors, and probably the lingering scent of smoke and old vinyl records. I imagined someone who collected retro furniture over the years and fully committed to the aesthetic, including a full conversation pit lounge area, fish tanks and multiple fireplaces. The palette leans heavily into mustard yellow, rust orange, and olive green with rich warm woods and earthy textures throughout. I really tried to keep everything feeling cozy, nostalgic, and a little worn-in without losing the upscale penthouse feel. There are 3 bedrooms total, including a massive master suite with a spa-style bathroom. The spare bedrooms kind of tell their own story too. In my head, maybe they belong to estranged adult children who occasionally come around but never fully move back in. The whole apartment has that “successful but lonely musician” energy. Maybe he throws parties with his band mates. Maybe he just drinks and smokes alone. This is also a custom content build, and I did include a few items from the Basemental Drugs Mod just to help sell the vibe and storytelling a little more. Because you can’t replace the front entry door in this apartment, I decided to match all of the interior doors to it. I originally was going to try and match all of the wood tones in the build to that old yellow-toned base game wood swatch but it's ANCIENT and almost no CC creators use it. The video itself is a bit longer than usual. I probably could’ve edited it down more, but honestly, it’s been a minute since I’ve made Sims content and I’m still getting back into the groove. But overall, I had a lot of fun with this one.
