Unshakable: From Cancer to Cape Town, Video 1

What do you do when the bottom drops out? On April 29, 2025, I was diagnosed with lung cancer even though I had never smoked. On September 24, surgeons removed twenty-five percent of my lungs. Thirty-seven days later, an email arrived inviting me to the Age Group World Championship Marathon in Cape Town. I had not run a single mile since surgery. I said yes. This is the beginning of Cancer to Cape Town. It is the story of rebuilding from zero, learning to breathe again, and asking one question that changed everything: How do you stay unshakable when the world feels unstable? That question led me to develop the Endurance Leadership Framework. It is a practical, research-based approach that helps leaders stay steady when life, work, or the world refuses to slow down. If you are facing a setback, a leadership challenge, or a season of uncertainty, this framework shows you how to keep moving. I ran my first post-surgery mile on November 26, 2025. I crossed the finish line on May 24, 2026, exactly eight months after surgery. This is Video 1 in the Cancer to Cape Town series.
